What a bedtime meltdown taught me, an Evans GA Family Photographer, about navigating the unknown

Our 4-year-old daughter came to us at bedtime with a splinter in her foot. As soon as we said we’d need to take it out, she panicked. Through tears and sobs, she kept saying,
“I’ve never done this before!”
And that was it.
Her fear wasn’t just about the splinter—it was the fear of the unknown.
New Experiences Can Feel Big (Especially for Littles)
As a mom, I get it. Navigating new experiences with our babies can feel overwhelming—especially when you’re the one responsible for keeping everyone calm, happy, and smiling.
Whether it’s your first family photo session or just the first one in a long time, there’s a lot that can feel uncertain.
You might worry:
- What if my kids melt down?
- What if I feel awkward in front of the camera?
- Will we get any good photos at all?
The Good News? You’re Not in This Alone
When you book with me, an Evans Family Photographer, I walk with you every step of the way.
From what to wear, to how to prep your kids, to helping everyone feel at ease in front of the camera—I handle all the little things so you can simply show up and enjoy the moment.
You deserve to feel confident, relaxed, and excited about your session. And the result?

Sometimes, Things Work Out More Easily Than We Expect
Back to that splinter: we decided to just put a bandaid on it, wait it out, and let her get some rest.
By the next day, the splinter had worked its way out on its own.
It was a reminder that even the things that feel big and scary at first don’t have to be hard.
And the same goes for your family’s session.
